Default NEPH - Nephros, Inc.

I haven't seen a thread on this one over here so figured I would start one. I know some folks aren't really high on MV, but the following article wasn't written by him...just being promoted by him.

Nephros (OTC:NEPH): Three FDA Decisions, One Company |

My hubby and I have been talking the same craziness. Sell other things and ride NEPH. Every time I take a risk like that, I fell like things go in the opposite direction! That said. I do have buy order in for more NEPH. Lordy, lordy, I can't quit this stock

Funny. I was looking at this one just a few hours ago.
I haven't seen the new approval date - has a new one been posted or is this the FDA limbo situation again?
Also, this may sound stupid, but are the three approvals to be simultaneous or seperate, given that they seem to be past the 90 day response time now anyway...

I just lightened up my HEB load a few days ago *winces* and am looking to add another biotech in its place.
Right now I've got NRI, CTIC and SSS...

Kordoyn, I just picked up a 1000 of HEB this am. I am losing it!!

Silver- 3 separate approvals, with separate approval dates. 510K dates are approximate and flexible, the first date just passed us by, hence the dip in the stock.

I'm either bored and seeing things or something interesting is going on here:

When I look at the level 2 bid /ask widget in my TDA account all the asks except for the "first one" are in 500 share blocks from 1.20 up to 5 bucks with the MPID's all over the place.

Thoughts?

we should send an e-mail to their investor relations dept. asking for clarification into the nature of the resignation...it may be as benign as a conflict of interest with something else he is pursuing...forced out by CEO in order to bring on new blood or due to large institutional holders wanting "their man" on the board, etc, etc.

if no one else wants to ...i will.

I also sent the following e-mail to the one address I could find on the website:

Quote:
Bernie,

My name is <<redacted to protect the innocent>>. I am sending you this e-mail to inquire around the circumstances of the resignation of Eric A. Rose, M.D from the Nephros, Inc. Board of Directors. Would you please forward this on to your Investor Relations Department? There does not appear to be an e-mail listed on the website to contact them directly.

I would like to get some corporate communication as to why he resigned. For example, was he asked to resign due to poor performance or leadership? At the behest of the CEO? For personal reasons? A conflict of interest?

As a shareholder I am simply trying to keep abreast of as much information as possible.

Thank you for your time.

Nephros Receives 510k Approval for Dual Stage Ultrafilters
7/2/2009 9:20:00 AM ET

PR Newswire

RIVER EDGE, N.J., July 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --Nephros, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: NEPH), a medical device company developing and marketing filtration products for therapeutic applications, infection control, and water purification, today reported that is has received 510k approval from the U.S. FDA to market its Dual Stage Ultrafilters (DSU) for in-line purification of dialysate water and bicarbonate solution.

On July 1, 2009, Nephros received approval of the DSU to be used to filter biological contaminants from water and bicarbonate concentrate used in hemodialysis procedures.

"The DSU is Nephros's first FDA approved device in the U.S. and represents an important milestone for the company," said Ernest Elgin, President and CEO of Nephros, Inc., "within dialysis clinics, microbial and endotoxin contamination of the water and dialysate concentrate used to prepare dialysate is an ongoing concern. Nephros's DSU filters are designed to eliminate these contaminants."

Within the U.S., there are approximately 4,500 clinics providing over 50 million dialysis treatments to 350,000 patients annually. To perform dialysis, ultrapure water is crucial to the production of dialysate. Dialysis clinics have water purification systems; however, microbial contaminants can originate from the water treatment system, the water distribution loop, or the dialysate concentrates. The Nephros DSU filters particles down to the 0.005-micron level and addresses dialysate contaminants at crucial points: after the reverse osmosis module and at the dialysis machine entrance from the water distribution loop. The DSU filter can be used as the last step in the water purification process to ensure ultra pure water for dialysis procedures. Regular use of Nephros Dual Stage Ultra Filters offers an affordable safety measure when utilized with modern water treatment systems and optimally designed hemodialysis machines.
